Have you ever wondered what really makes people snap? Is it that person who cut them off in traffic after already having a bad day? What about the teller at the bank or the fast food restaurant employee who seems to be upset with you at their own job decisions? I'm not sure about everyone else but for me it could be just about anything.
I know it sounds a little like I might need medication but lets put it in perspective. Everyone on a daily basis in today's society is on the cusp of snapping. In my opinion the reason is attitude. Now I've had some days where I'm pretty sure the next person that even looks at me the wrong way is going to get shanked. Of course I don't follow up on this because I'm a civilized person with good enough sense not to let myself get caught up in barbaric behavior. Not saying though that the thoughts just leave my mind. Okay back on course, having someone especially random, be nice to you for no reason can really change your behavior. Think about it, have you just been right the on the edge and someone says "I'm sorry I bumped into I wasn't paying attention, I apologize." Now any person with any kind of decency would respond properly by saying it's okay. There are plenty of people still left in the world that are nice and try hard to be. So when you feel like going postal, just be nice to someone if not everybody!
Footnote to what you just read above, the world is also full of assholes. People that for no other reason would rather take candy from a baby and push old people down. We've all met someone like this. When you run into people of this nature, round one you try to be nice, round two try to be nice after that well whatever happens happens.

The world needs a little dose of Chris everyday! Well put, my fine sir.
Very well thought out, brother-in-law! I personally think that no one and nothing can push you to snap. The problem is the condition of your heart and mind. No one can bring out the worst in you unless the worst was in you to begin with! That's why the Bible says, "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." Proverbs 4:23. I find it impossible to maintain a peaceful, humble attitude without spending time in the Word and in prayer every morning. Not that I'm perfect about it, of course!
